All clips have these fields:

  • Name – The clip name as used in Flow. It is shown on the thumbnail in the library. By default it is the filename of the file you uploaded.
  • Description – A description of the clip. If you type # in the description field, you can add tags as well. These tags are recognized by Flow and can be used as a filter when searching in the library.
  • Rating – You can give the clip one to five stars. The meaning of these stars is up to you. Stars can also be used as a filter when searching in the library.
  • Created – The date this clip was created in Flow
  • Media Start – The start timecode of the clip
  • Media End – The end timecode of the clip
  • Media Duration – The duration of the clip

In addition to these fields, the clip metadata can contain custom fields which are configured for your production.

Workflows

details-clip-workflowsBelow the clip metadata you’ll find the workflows that have run or are running on the clip. These are the most common workflows:

  • Ingest – This workflow makes the clip ready for usage on Flow. It will detect the type of the clip, analyze its contents and generate proxy version for usage in the browser.
  • Speech Recognition – This workflow starts when you press the Start speech recognition button in Clip Actions. It will analyze the audio of the clip and create a transcript for the spoken text.
  • Subtitling – This workflow starts when you start the automatic conversion of a transcript into subtitles

If a workflow is still busy, you’ll see its progress here. For example, the Speech Recognition workflow in the image on the right is still running.

Material Locations

clip-details-material-locationsBelow the workflows you’ll find the material locations of the clip. It lists all original and transcoded versions of the clip. The original upload is labeled with type RAW. You’ll find technical information about the clip here.

If the version is available on Flow, you’ll also see a download button to the right of the version. The example on the right contains no download button for the RAW version, as it was uploaded via Limecraft Edge as a proxy. The proxy does have a download button.
