On Friday October 11th Limecraft presents the new release of Limecraft Flow, the cloud-based collaboration platform for film and documentary professionals. The latest version includes Limecraft Flow for Factual and it will be launched at the 40th Ghent Film Fest.

Limecraft Flow for Factual is specially designed for production of non-fiction formats, i.e. documentary and magazine. “With this application, users access different sources to search and clip material fragments. By sorting and organising the material, the editor develops the story in a most convenient and intuitive way. During this process, Limecraft makes sure users can securely and easily share information and comments”, says co-founder and head of product development Nico Oorts of Limecraft.

The application offers a new perspective to documentary makers, because the story does not develop by means of a screenplay. “Documentary producers often search for existing material in archives, combine it with live action and eventually assemble a scenario based on the available material, which is exactly what we have implemented with Limecraft Flow for Factual”, explains Nico Oorts.

“In the domain of documentary production, co-production is rather the rule than the exception”, says Oorts. “Limecraft Flow is the first application used by professionals to efficiently and securely share video material on different locations. Compared with file-sharing applications, each action takes place in the context of a ‘production’. Each production is a safe repository with access permissions managed by the producer. We help users with transfers of material back-and-forth editing workstations (Avid Media Composer, Apple Final Cut pro or Adobe Premiere). As such we match the current best practices as close as possible.”
